We always love getting our hands on a new workshop tool, but the latest addition to our collection is rather special.
The brainchild of Brad Lagman of QMP Racing, The MC-1 Measuring Centre has been developed for measuring pistons, rods and other components.
It gives highly accurate measurements that can be easily repeated.
The beauty of this setup is that it gives highly accurate measurements that can be easily repeated. Previously we’d have to measure each piston diameter individually using a micrometer and mark it up using a pen.
This was time consuming and required a lot of skill and patience to get right, especially when dealing with a V10 engine. The new tool allows us to do the same job, much faster and with repeatability – something we always strive for with engine building.
The unit comes with Mitutoyo gauges, which can be linked to Performance Trends software allowing us to log all of the data.
